DOMESTIC

2002 Hijack Plot? >>> Hard to believe that al Qaeda thought the hijack plan would work a second time. Also, if you haven't read the 9/11 Report, the information that the 9/11 planners hoped to hit West Coast targets such as the Golden Gate and San Francisco Bridges, the U.S Bank Tower in L.A., and the Bank of America Tower in Seattle might be news. Far more intriguing, however, is the notion that the 2002 plot was contracted to Jemaah Islamiyah, the Southeast Asian wing of the group, known for the 2002 Bali bombings (and probably the ones last weekend) as well as other various attacks.

DEFENSE & TECHNOLOGY

Why Everyone Loves UAVs >>> UAVs are probably the biggest military innovation since GPS guidance and the parachute. The Iraq War has brought these things into the spotlight, and given their potential use in civilian applications as well as military, they won't be going anywhere soon.
